Procedure for removal of Defunct Companies’ name simplified

The Government has decided to introduce a scheme to simplify the procedure for removing the names of the defunct companies. It is called “The Simplified Exit Scheme, 2005” (SES 2005).

Under the new scheme effective from February 1,2005, the directors of the defunct companies having no assets and no liabilities can apply to the concerned Registrar of Companies (ROCs) by furnishing an affidavit and indemnity bond and the latest audited financial statement or, in certain cases as specified, a statement of account along with a lump sum fee of Rs.3000/-. The scheme will continue till July 31, 2005.
