Owing to good season and adequate availability, the sales of urea and DAP up to 15th January, 2005 have been higher by about 8% and 13% respectively compared to the corresponding period of last year. The total requirement of urea and DAP for Rabi 2004-05 season is estimated at about 108.35 lakh MT and 39.39 lakh MT respectively. Against this, the estimated availability may be around 118 lakh MT and 46 lakh MT.

Haryana, projected demand of urea for the month of January 2005 as 1.86 lakh MT, which is being made available. By 23rd January, 2005, 1.46 lakh MT has been made available out of which, unsold stock of about 40,650 MT is available at different field locations in the State. Further supplies are scheduled within the month as per requirement. Requirement of DAP is 24,000 MT in January 2005, against which by 23rd January about 31,000 MT has reached Haryana and unsold stock of about 47,000 MT is available at different field locations in the State. Further movement is taking place as per requirement.

The supply of major fertilizers to Haryana is as per the requirement. The farmers are requested to note the availability. Distribution of fertilizer within different parts of the State is the function of the State Government and the State Government has been requested to ensure adequate availability of fertilizers to all the areas/districts of the State. Any person may call 1600-114400 (toll-free number) in the Department of Fertilizers to report black-marketing, hoarding of fertilizers or any problem relating to fertilizers for rapid action.
