New Model Concession Agreement

The new Model Concession Agreement (MCA) for Public Private Partnership has been approved by Committee on Infrastructure (CoI).

In the new MCA, certain provisions like capacity augmentation based on the traffic, partial traffic risk sharing, provision for distribution of grant/receipt of premium, out-put based technical requirements, obligation of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for pre-construction activities, revision of concession period on variation of traffic growth etc., have been introduced.

NHAI is adopting new Model Concession Agreement for implementation of future projects on Build, Operate and Transfer (Toll) mode of funding after getting approval from the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC).

This information was given by the Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Shri K.H. Muniyappa in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
