New Hospitals Under PPP

Public health being a State subject, the primary responsibility to provide health care rests with the state governments. However under NRHM, funds are provided to State Governments according to the proposals received from States in their State Programme Implementation Plans, which may include opening of new hospitals under PPP mode in the rural and semi-rural areas of the country, as per the felt need of the State/UT Governments.

This was stated by Sh Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare in a written reply to the Lok Sabha today.
