Traffic Management Plan for Areas around Civic Center, Road, New Delhiunder JNNURM. The Central and MonitoringCommittee (CSMC)for sanctioning ofprojects under Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), Submission-Ion Urban Infrastructureand Governance (UIG) has approved the projects under the Chairmanship of the Secretary, Urban Development Dr. . The project will ease traffic congestion in the area around Civic Center.
The total approved cost of the project Rs. 97.16 .Government has committed total Additional Central Assistance (ACA) to the tune of Rs.34.00 which is 35% of the approved cost. First installment of Rs.8.50 (25% of the ACA) will be released shortly. The project will be implemented by the Municipal Corporation Delhi (MCD) andcompleted in the period of 24 months.
The CSMC has also sanctioned two new projects under JNNURM for Varanasi and Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Water Supply Component (Priority-II) project for Trans- Area of Varanasi City has been approved in order provide adequate, safe and equitable water supply to all the consumers. At present water supply in is 66 against national norms of 150 for metro cities.Due to increase in population the size of existing water supply mains are not adequate to the water demand with adequate terminal pressure.The will be implemented by UP Nigam on behalf of Nagar Nigam Varanasi and will be completed in a period of 30 months.
DPR for Sewerage Works in Sewerage Zone-II of Mathura City has been approved by the Ministry to provide sewerage facilities in Mathura in a comprehensive and plannedmanner and to prevent the flow of waste water into River Yamuna. It will also improve the environment in the pilgrim city of Mathura. The project will be implemented by UP Nigam and will be completed in the period of 28 months.
