National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology signs up strategic partnership with French Business School

The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, the apex body for education and training in Hotel Management and Catering Technology in India has entered into a strategic academic partnership with the VATEL International Business School of France for exchange of students and faculty with an objective of development of human resources for the hotel and catering industry. An MoU to this effect was signed by Shri Rajiv Talwar, CEO of the Council and Shri Alain Sebban, President of the VATEL International Business School, France.

According to the MoU, the Vatel Group will provide annual scholarships equivalent to the value of tuition fees to six deserving students of Hotel Management for Vatel’s Masters programme at Vatel, France. The MoU also provides for an annual exchange programme of faculty where two professors from Vatel will come to India for teaching language while three Indian professors will visit Vatel to improve their current skills, particularly, in French gastronomy. There will be exchange of faculty for research purposes and also for conducting seminars in each others’ countries. The Vatel group will also organize a 6-month `Specialist Food and Beverage Course’ in France on request of the IHMs.

According to the MoU, the Indian Hotel Management students, who have completed 3rd year of their Bachelor degree in India can integrate into final year of Vatel France’s Master’s degree program. It also provides for internship in France for 12 Indian students in their 2nd year of the studies, every year.

The MoU will be valid for a term of 5 years and can be renewed further with mutual agreement by both the parties.
