Namibian Energy Minister meets MoS Atomic Energy Dr. Jitendra Singh

A Namibian Ministerial delegation led by Minister for Mines and Energy, Mr. Obeth Kandjoze, called on the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh here today and discussed issues of mutual interest. The Namibian delegation included Minister for Forest and Agriculture, Mr. Johannes Mutorwa, and the Namibian High Commissioner to India, Mr. Pius Dunaiski.

Mr. Obeth Kandjoze spoke in detail about various steps and measures taken by his government in the area of promoting energy and also in collaboration with other Nation States of the world for mutual benefit. He promised to keep in regular touch with the Indian authorities for carrying forward joint programmes between the two nations and also assured to send back important feedbacks. Mr. Johannes Mutorwa, who is a senior Minister in the Namibian Cabinet, spoke about the vast new resources which are being explored by his government that could strengthen the bondage with friendly countries like India.

Dr Jitendra Singh warmly welcomed the ministerial delegation and said, India is glad to take forward the spirit of mutual cooperation among the African nations. He said, it goes to the credit of the present government headed by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to have organised an India-Africa Forum Summit which had never brought so many Heads of States together on the same platform at the same time.

Dr Jitendra Singh referred to global trends of advancement in certain common areas including nuclear energy, renewable energy and water resources and said, in such areas, the Member Nations could seek a closer cooperation without any reservations whatsoever.
