NTPC pays highest ever interim dividend of Rs. 2226.28 crores

A cheque of Rs. 1992.50 crore was presented by Shri T. Sankaralingam, CMD, NTPC to the Union Minister of Power, Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, as the share of Government of India towards interim dividend for the FY 2007-08. The total interim dividend works out to Rs. 2226.28 crores, @ 27% on the paid-up capital of the company. This is the highest ever interim dividend declared by the Company. Shri Anil Razdan, Secretary (Power) and other senior officials from Ministry of Power and NTPC were present on the occasion.

This is the 15th consecutive year that NTPC has paid dividend.

NTPC, which is globally comparable thermal generation company in terms of size and performance, has the vision to be a world class integrated power major, with increasing global presence. NTPC presently has an installed capacity of 28644 MW (including 1794 MW JVs). It is diversifying into Hydro power, coal mining, power distribution, power trading, power equipment manufacturing, EPC etc.
