NLC takes up three projects

Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) has expanded its scope of activities by taking up three projects with Central Government's approval. These include expansion of existing Mine II from 10.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 15.0 MTPA at a cost of Rs.2,161.28 crore, expansion of second thermal power station (2x250 MW) at a cost of Rs.2,030.78 crore and opening up of a new mine viz. Barsingsar Lignite Mine of 2.10 MTPA capacity at a cost of Rs.254.07 crore and a thermal power station (2x125 MW) at a cost of Rs.1,114.18 crore at Barsingsar in Bikaner district in Rajasthan.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Coal & Mines, Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
