Lifting of Ban on Emigration Clearance for Employment in Libya

Following non-payment of salary and non conforming to other contract conditions by employers in Libya and recruiting agents in India with respect to the Indian w orkers, it had been decided that no emigration clearance will be granted to any worker, including nurses, for employment in Libya until further orders.

With the efforts of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and Indian Mission at Libya, outstanding salaries of Indian workers are being paid and the workers are being repatriated. Since, the situation has improved, it has been decided to lift the ban imposed on emigration clearance for Libya with immediate effect.
