Licenses to Sranks and Drivers

Certificates of competency (CoCs) to Serangs and Drivers operating passenger boats are issued under the provisions of the Inland Vessels (IV) Act 1917, which is administered by the State Governments. These CoCs are issued by the State Government(s) concerned or by the delegated authority notified by the State Government. The Mercantile Marine Departments (MMDs) under the Central Government provide necessary assistance whenever requested by the concerned State Government(s). Enforcement of provisions of the IV Act for ensuring safe operation within their respective jurisdiction is the subject matter of the State Governments concerned
