India Win three Matches & Lose one in Tennis

The Indian team had mixed luck in tennis when they won three of their matches-two in singles and one in girls doubles –but lost a match in the boys doubles today. Sita Ram Sudhanwa  & Yuki Bhambri won their respective boys singles matches for India in tennis  advancing to the second round at Balewadi tennis courts.   Both matches were one sided encounters.   Sita Ram Sudhanwa won his match comfortably against Scott Clayton of Jersey 6-4,6-0.Sita Ram kept a clear edge winning 85 percent of his first serves. In the other singles match Yuki Bhambri beat Paul Wilson of Malaysia 6-0, 6-0 in just 36 minutes to make a clean sweep for Indians in singles category.   Yuki held 89 percent of his serves against his opponents 70 percent. In the girls doubles category Tanvi Shah & Rashmi Teltumbde got the better of Norah Brown & Leigh Iro Maeva of Cook Islands 6-1, 6-0 to win the third match for Indian side.   They just took 45 minutes to get rid of their opponents who were no match for their confidence.

Indian boys lost in the doubles category today.   Sita Ram Sudhanwa & Akash Wagh went down to Ogan Mckenzie & Finn Tearney of New Zealand  5-7,4-6 to register the first loss for India in tennis on the second day today.   Of the 22 matches held today only two matches went into the third set while 17 finished in two sets while two were walkovers.
