Housing to Jhuggi-Jhonpari Dwellers

Delhi (MCD)hasintimated that about 7351 Dwellershave beenrehabilitatedfromvariousJJClustersat , and during the last three years,as perthe details enclosed (Annexure).The MCD further informedthat the year-wise expenditure for relocationof Clusters in various colonies is as under:-

2006-07Rs.892.07 

2007-08Rs.1091.91 

2008-09Rs.634.34 

from above, a sum of Rs.1415.68 wasalso paidtoDDAon account of cost of land duringtheyear 2007-08.

the present three-fold strategy of relocation of Slum & JJ cluster from area required for public purpose, in-situ at other sites to be selected on the basisof specificparameters and environmental to basic minimumstandards
shall be allowed as an interimmeasure. furtherprovides that rest of the clusters, tillthey arecoveredby either of the first two components ofthe strategy, should be continued.

The families possessing cards withthe cut off date of 31.1.1990 are allocated plotsof 18 . those in possession of ration cards post 1990 December, 1998 are given plot size of 12.5 . 

The Government of National Capital of Delhi (GNCTD) has informed that the estimated population in unauthorizedcolonies is approximately between 35-40 .
GNCTDhasfurther informed that no survey in thisregard hasbeenconductedandthat thereisnoproposalto rehabilitate persons living in unauthorized colonies.
