Growing popularity of refrigerated vans

Introduction of refrigerated vans on Bangalore-Gorakhpur rail route in 2002 for transportation of highly perishable commodities like fruits and vegetables and their utilization at the other end as a fresh farm produce has proved to be a boon to the producers.

Now the refrigerated vans with a deep freeze compartment and a cold compartment have been extended to more routes as per the demand and availability of refrigerated vans.

Transportation of highly perishable commodities by deep freeze refrigerated vans have brought remunerative prices to the farmers for their produce.
