Government Deputes Senior Officers to Oversee Preparations of Commonwealth Games
The Government has assigned duties to senior officers presently working in Delhi in various Ministries/Departments in relation to the Commonwealth Games.
These Officers would be deputed on part-time basis to oversee the preparations at the major Commonwealth Games venues, to solve coordination problems and bring to the notice of Secretary, Department of Sports and Cabinet Secretary for any intervention that may be required.
The officers under reference will ensure completion of various assignments in games venues allocated to them as per the prescribed time lines and furnish progress report to Secretary, Department of Sports and Cabinet Secretary on day-to-day basis.
The officers have been empowered to take decision on the spot/site, in order to tie up any loose end/or resolve any conflict between different agencies/organisations during preparation for Commonwealth Games-2010. However, they may discuss with Secretary, Sports, while taking such decisions, where such decisions have any financial implications. Decisions taken by these officers would have to be complied with by the executing agencies at the venue level.

(v) Shri J.S. Deepak, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce
(vi) Shri Rohit Nandan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation
(vii) Shri Shashi Shekar, OSD, Power Trading Corporation Ltd.
(viii) Dr. Taradatt, Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat
(ix) Shri Gopal Krishna, Secretary, Sports Authority of India
(x) Shri Rajeev Kapoor, Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training.
(xi) Shri Injeti Srinivas, Joint Secretary Ministry of Sports.
Shri Injeti Srinivas, J.S. Ministry of Sports will look after issues of accreditation and Shri Rajeev Kapoor, J.S., Department of Personnel & Training will look after Games Village in addition to Shri J.S. Deepak, J.S., Ministry of Commerce.
The officers will be released from their additional responsibilities by 15th September, 2010 or on completion of assignments.
