Four laning of Vijayawada-Machlipatnam section of NH 9 in Andhra Pradesh

The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure today approved the project of four laning of Vijayawada-Machlipatnam section of NH 9 in Andhra Pradesh under NHDP Phase IV-A on DBFOT basis in BOT (Toll) mode of delivery. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs.736 crore out of which Rs.130 crore will be for land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and pre-construction. The total length of the project is 64.611 km. The concession period is 20 years including construction period of 24 months.

The project will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Vijayawada and Machilipatnam. It will also increase the employment potential for the local labourers for the project activities.

The project will be in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh.
