Food Processing Minister meets Indian egg Processors Association and Delegation of Indian Confectionery Manufacturers Association

Hon’ble Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today met the delegation of Indian egg Processors Association led by SKM Shree Shivkumar, President of IEPA and Dr. A.K. Rajput Executive Director of IEPA and discussed the issues of the Egg Processors Industry.

Hon’ble Minister also met the delegation of Indian Confectionery Manufacturers Association led by representatives of Cadbury, Mondelez, Candico, Wrigley and others and discussed issues relating to the Sugar Confectionery Industry.

Hon’ble Minister also took a presentation by Shri Anil Jain, Managing Director, Jain Irrigation, company that pioneered drip irrigation in India to become one of the major food processors.

Outlining her plan for the industry, Hon’ble Minister told that issues between Food Processing Industry vis-à-vis FSSAI(Food Safety standards Authority of India) are being sorted out on priority basis. Hon’ble Minister also informed the delegation that Finance Budget has given major boost to the industry in terms of decreasing excise on plant and machinery and packaging used for food processing industry.The Food Processing Minister also hoped to get more in the budget in coming days.
