Extension of tenure of the Commission for Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) not covered by the existing reservation policy

The Cabinet today approved the proposal to extend the term of the Commission for Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) up to 31.07.2010. The term of the Commission was extended from time to time and was last extended up to 31.03.2010.

This Commission was constituted vide Resolution dated 6.1.2004 of the Government to work out the modalities so as to give effect to the proposed reservation for economically backward classes not covered by the existing reservation policy.
