Environmental research bags Rs 6 crore for 2009-10

The ministry of Environment and Forests has allotted an amount of Rs. 6.0 crores under the R & D scheme to undertake any research on environment and its management during the financial year 2009-10.The Ministry of Environment & Forests has Research & Development (R&D) scheme. They support Research projects in multi-disciplinary aspects of Environmental Research in the identified thrust areas to various research Institutions, Non-governmental organizations, Voluntary Bodies and Universities in working towards the objectives of Conservation and Management of environment. .

Minister of State for the Ministry of Environment and Forests (Independent charge) Shri Jairam Ramesh replied in a written question by Shri. N.S.V. Chithan in Lok Sabha today.
