As per the quinquennial employment and unemployment surveys conducted by National Sample Survey Organisation, unemployment rate among educated youth on usual status basis has gone down from around 14.8 per cent in 1999-2000 to 13.6 per cent in 2004-05.
Industry-wise distribution of employment during 1999-2000 and 2004-05 has been as follows :-
