Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said that as per a study conducted by World Bank on the impact of skill development programmes in India, it was found that an overall placement rate of 27% of trainees has been achieved. To improve upon this, the Ministry's flagship scheme, âPradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)â has included a provision for incentivizing training providers who facilitate mentorship and placement services for trainees.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today Shri Rudy said, the Finance Minister in his Budget Speech 2015 announced National Skills Mission to be launched through the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to aggregate skill initiatives across the country and provide standardised systems and procedures for skills training across various sectors. The Ministry has initiated the process of rolling out the Mission which is at early stage.
