E. Ahamed Holds Delegation Level Talks With Mozambican Transport Minister

The Minister of State for Railways, Shri E. Ahamed held delegation level talks with the visiting Minister of Transport & Communications of Mozambique, Mr. Paulo Zucala, here today to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of rail transportation. The Mozambican Transport Minister expressed his happiness over the ongoing rail infrastructure projects undertaken by the Indian Railways through its Public Sector Undertakings namely RITES and IRCON in Mozambique.

Shri E. Ahamed said that India and Mozambique should jointly work to further strengthen the bilateral relations. He assured the visiting Mozambique delegation that Indian Railways will continue to provide all possible assistance in building transport infrastructure in Mozambique.

Mr. Paulo Zucala said that since Mozambican Government wants to enhance its rail traffic from the current levels, more cooperation from Indian Railways was required. He also extended an invitation to Shri E. Ahamed on behalf of the Mozambican Government to visit Maputo.

Also present at the delegation level talks among others were Shri Vivek Sahai, Chairman, Railway Board; Shri V.K. Agarwal, Managing Director, RITES; Shri Mohan Tiwari, Managing Director, IRCON; Shri A.K. Amrohi, Indian High Commissioner to Mozambique, and other senior officials from Indian Railways and Government of Mozambique.
