Differently abled children of Asha School Delhi presented with a Maruti Van

Mrs. Mohini Singh, President, Western Command Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), presented a Maruti Van for the differently abled children of Asha School Delhi here today.After presenting the vehicle to Mrs. Deepa Bhardwaj, Chairperson Asha School Delhi; Mrs. Mohini Singh interacted with the special children and the staff of the School. Mrs. Mohini Singh appreciated the good work being done by HQ, Delhi Area towards this noble cause.

'Asha', a centre for differently abled children was initiated over a decade ago in 1991 by AWWA. Today there are 29 Asha Schools, spread across the country in various defence establishments with a commitment to provide support to these children and their parents. Asha Schools were established with the aim to provide an environment which provided a combined curriculum of education and therapy, counseling and rehabilitation. Also, the aim was to create a quality environment affordable and accessible to all defence personnel. Asha Schools are special schools which are devoted to the all round development of challenged children of defence forces personnel with a view to making them independent and productive members of the society.
