has said that following major steps have been taken by the Government to boost tourism in the North-East region:-
Provision of complimentary space to the North Eastern states in India Pavilions set up at major International Travel Fairs and Exhibitions.

In a written reply in today the Minister further said that his Ministry has undertaken the following measures to focus on the tourism potential of (including religious spots) in the North Eastern region:
Releasing television campaigns on various TV Channels.
A separate section on the North Eastern region included on the promotional website of the Ministry of Tourism www.incredibleindia.org.
The North Eastern region has been the theme of the India Pavilion at the South Asian Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE) organized annually in New Delhi for the past few years.
Publicity material produced and distributed widely through offices in India and overseas including South East Asia and China.
The number of tourism projects and amount sanctioned to the North Eastern states under the scheme “Product/Infrastructure Development for Destinations and Circuits (PIDDC)â€
