Delhi youth and school-students to express their solidarity towards Tsunami victims Youth day to be celebrated tomorrow

Nearly 4000 youth associated with Nehru Yuvak Kendra Sangthan, National Service Scheme (NSS), Sports Authority of India and various Schools of Delhi will converge at Dhyanchand Stadium (National Stadium) here tomorrow to observe the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The occasion will provide the participating youth an opportunity to express their solidarity with the Tsunami affected people in the coastal States and also to support the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures in those areas. Swami Vivekananda, on the occasion, will be remembered as the eternal role model of youthful spirit and selfless service. The Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Sunil Dutt will be the Chief Guest.

Every year, the Birthday of Swami Vivekanand is celebrated as National Youth Day but this year, in the backdrop of devastation caused by the Tsunami waves, the day is being observed to give a clarion call to the youth of the country to extend their wholehearted support to the Tsunami victims.
