The cumulative seasonal rainfall for the country as a whole during this year¡¦s monsoon has so far been 18% below the Long Period Average (LPA).Out of 36 meteorological sub-divisions, rainfall was excess/normal in 18 and deficient/scanty in 18 meteorological sub-divisions. Cumulative rainfall scenario over 5 meteorological sub-divisions (West Rajasthan, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat region) changed from deficient to normal category during this week.
Improvement in the overall rainfall scenario over the country continued during this week also. There is an improvement in 18 meteorological sub-divisions, no large change in 9 and deterioration in the remaining 9 sub-divisions.
