Construction of Terminal Building of Jabalpur Airport

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has decided to construct a new Terminal Building, extension of runway, new apron, new ATC tower cum Technical Block, new Fire Station, instal ILS, relocate DVOR, construct boundary wall and perimeter road at Jabalpur Airport at an estimated cost of Rs. 421 Crores.

The AAI has initiated the tender process for appointment of Project Management Consultant for construction of Terminal Building at the Airport, that would be capable of handling 500 (250 arriving + 250 departing) peak hour passengers. Existing terminal building can cater only to 75 arriving + 75 departing passengers, suitable for only one flight. Construction of new Terminal Building is intended to facilitate operation of 2 flights simultaneously with higher passenger load per aircraft.

This information was given by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Shri Jayant Sinha in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
