Annual expenditure on Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) for the last three years is given hereunder:-

A total of 34 cases have been referred to SFIO for investigation under section 235/237 of the Companies Act, 1956 till date. Of these stay has been granted by the concerned High Courts in one case while in another case, the order of investigation, earlier stayed by the High Court was subsequently quashed by the same Court.
In the case where investigation is presently stayed by the High Court, the matter, on being pursued, was referred to the Division Bench of the concerned High Court, where it is now being followed up for vacation of the stay.
This information was given by Shri Prem Chand Gupta, Minister of Company Affairs in reply to the questions raised by Shri Kuldeep Bishnoi in Lok Sabha today.
