Capacity Building in Panchayats

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has advised the States/UTs that while opting for Capacity Building under the e-Panchayat module Training of both official & Elected functionaries in Basic Computer Skills, including use of internet, website, MS Office, etc. should be imparted through DOEACC (a society under Deptt. of Information Technology (DIT), GoI) and its Accredited or Authorized centres (available at www.panchayat.gov.in). States are to nominate at least 2 trainees from each GP and recommend training institutes for which advice has already been given by the Ministry on 25th April, 2011.

It has been made clear that Funds are available for such training under BRGF and RGSY @ Rs 2000 per participant. Gujarat, TN and W. Bengal have carried out such training in large numbers. Moreover, Computer knowledge for future recruitments could be made compulsory.
