Beach Cleaning Drive Conducted by V.O. Chidambaranar Port

V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust,  as a part of achieving the biggest ever efforts towards achieving universal sanitation coverage,  improving cleanliness and eliminating open defecation in the country, conducted a beach cleaning programme at the Port beach  on 28.03.2017  with the support of around 200 students from Kamaraj College,  Tuticorin.  Shri S. Natarajan, Deputy Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust, Heads of Departments and senior officers of the Port  took part in the beach clean up drive.

 A grand procession was also organized  by the Port in the residential complex of the Port.  Around 300 Port school children participated in the procession emphasizing the importance of cleanliness through public address systems and placards.  Pamphlets sensitizing general public on adoption of cleanliness were distributed to the residents of the  Port Colony.

 In order  to sensitize the Office staff of the V.O.Chidambaranar Port Trust on   cleanliness,  an interactive session was conducted by the Port at the Conference hall of Administrative office.
