Ministry of Environment & Forests provided Rs.1710 lakh for animal welfare activities during current financial year. Replying to a question raised by Shri H. Harsha Kumar in Lok Sabha, Shri Namo Narain Meena, Minister of State for Environment & Forests further told funds are provided under various schemes namely provision of Shelter House for looking after the animals, provision of Ambulance Services to animals in distress, Birth Control and Immunization of stray dogs, schemes for relief to animals during national calamities and unforeseen circumstances and Animal Welfare Board of India.
