The total production of Aluminium metal in the country during the period April-November of this fiscal has been estimated at 6,12,247 tonnes as against 5,73,797 tonnes during the same period last year. Out of this, the public sector National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) produced 2,38,602 tonnes and Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) with 49 per cent Central Government equity 69,543 tonnes. The private sector Hindalco Industries Limited (HINDALCO) produced 2,79,489 tonnes and Madras Aluminium Company Limited (MALCO) 24,613 tonnes. The production has crossed the target of 6,03,057 tonnes.
In November 2005, the total production of Aluminium in the country was 77,269 tonnes against a target of 75,129 tonnes. Out of this, NALCO produced 29,968 tonnes, BALCO 8,868 tonnes, HINDALCO 35,408 tonnes and MALCO 3,025 tonnes. NALCO, during the month sold 80,282 tonnes of Alumina Hydrate and exported 7,916 tonnes of Aluminium.
