The Protector of Emigrants, Mumbai has filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against agencies M/s. Trig Guardforce Ltd., Mumbai and M/s. IBI Detectives Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai for violation of the ban placed by the Government on recruitment for employment in Iraq. Both these agencies are not registered as recruiting agencies. Another agency M/s. Gemini Veterans Placements, New Delhi is a registered recruiting agency. They were served a show-cause notice.
The action follows media reports about irregular recruitment of Indian ex-servicemen for duties in Iraq by three agencies. It was reported that in January 2004, M/s. Trig Guardforce Ltd., Mumbai has sent three officers and 40 men for deployment in Iraq.
