Government agencies have procured 31.3 lakh tonne paddy so far as per reports collected from the procurement agencies in different states.
Punjab has contributed 23.27 lakh tonne and Haryana, 8.0 lakh tonne. Other states where procurement has just begun include Delhi, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
The paddy procured so far (31.3 lakh tonnes) comes to 20.97 tonnes in terms of rice.
