The 22nd Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (Autumn) 2006 concluded at Greater NOIDA, today. The five-day Fair was organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), a premier export body of India under the aegis of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).
Over 8000 buyers from regions like Americas, Europe, Middle East, Far East and South East Asia registered at the Fair during the five days period. More than 7500 trade enquires were received which may materialize into business in next 6-8 months. According to the organizers of the Fair, it has generated export business amounting to Rs.1700 crore. There were more than 1800 exhibitors from all over India displaying more than 800 product lines, designs, styles, colours and raw materials.
The Textiles Minister, Shri Shanker Sinh Vaghela, the Tourism, Culture Minister, Smt. Ambika Soni, Minister of State for Commerce, Shri Jairam Ramesh, Lt. Governor of Delhi, Shri B. L. Joshi and Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Sheila Dixit were among those dignitaries who visited the Fair.
