Water Resource Management in Rural Areas

There are 10 water management projects under implementation in the country with the assistance of World Bank, namely, Rajasthan Water Sector Restructuring, Maharashtra Water Sector Improvement, Hydrology Project II, Orissa Community Tank Management, Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture and Water Resource Management, Andhra Pradesh Community Tank Management, Madhya Pradesh Water Sector Restructuring, Andhra Pradesh Water Sector Improvement, West Bengal Accelerated Development of Minor Irrigation and Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement.

At present, there is no proposal to seek assistance from the World Bank for water management in rural areas.

This information was given by Union Water Resources Minister Shri Harish Rawat in the Lok Sabha today in reply to a written question.
