ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE
(SHRI JAGAT PRAKASH NADDA)

(a): The Government has taken steps to popularize the scheme of JSSK as a part of the complete communication strategy which includes television spots, radio spots and IEC Materials for print media such as posters, hoardings and wall paintings. This has been prepared and shared with the States.

Funds for carrying out the above activities are provided to the States under IEC-BCC as per their specific proposals in their Annual Project Implementation Plan.

(b): All public health institutions are providing JSSK entitlements for pregnant women and sick infants accessing their facilities for treatment.
The benefits under the scheme have also been expanded to ante-natal and post-natal complications during pregnancy.

(c): The steps taken by the Government for effective implementation of JSSK are:

• Regular Regional and State level review meetings.
• Communication through different channels with State Governments including letters, videoconferencing etc.

• Quarterly reporting from the States on achievements of free entitlements under JSSK.

• Field visits by central levels teams to monitor the progress of implementation.

• As part of conditionality’s in the Record of Proceedings (ROP) issued to the states, a maximum penalty of 10% has been kept if gaps in implementation of free entitlements are found as per Mother and Child Tracking Facilitation Centre (MCTFC) reports.
