(a) whether the Union Government has received any proposal from the various State Governments including State Governments of Rajasthan and Gujarat for setting up of Nursing Degree Colleges in the States;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Union Government on such proposals; and
(d) the time frame by which these colleges are likely to be set up?

(a) to (d): Proposal has been received from the State Government of Chattisgarh for setting up
of two nursing degree colleges one at Ambikapur and another at Jagadalpur. No specific
proposal for setting up of nursing degree college has been received from State Governments
of Rajasthan and Gujarat. However proposals have been received from some States including
Rajasthan for establishment of Centre of Excellence where it is proposed to run B.Sc.
(Nursing) degree programme also. It is not possible to specify a time frame for these
colleges. Since the scheme for the establishment of Centre of Excellence in States is yet
to be taken up with the Expenditure Finance Committee/Cabinet.
