(a): State-wise details of total grid connected solar power generation capacity are given at Annexure-I.
(b): As per the report received from Central Electricity Authority, State-wise details of solar power generated during each of the last three years and current year are given at Annexure-II.
(c) & (d): The Government is promoting solar energy through various fiscal and promotional incentives such as capital subsidy, generation based incentive, accelerated depreciation, viability gap funding (VGF), financing solar rooftop systems as part of home loan, concessional custom duty, preferential tariff for power generation from renewables, and Foreign Direct investment up to 100 per cent under the automatic route etc. The Goods and Services Tax introduced recently, has been kept at lower level of 5% to promote the solar sector.
(e): The Government has been supporting solar manufacturing by way of various mechanisms such as Modified Special Incentive Package Scheme (M-SIPS) of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). The scheme, inter alia, provides 20-25% subsidy on capital expenditure for setting up of electronic manufacturing facilities including manufacturing of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) (Polysilicon, Ingots. and/ or Wafers, Cells, Modules/Panels). Units across the value chain starting from raw materials to assembly, testing, and packaging of these product categories are included.
