(a) the details of irrigation projects forwarded by the Government of Karnataka for approval
of the Union Government so far;
(b) whether a huge number of irrigation projects forwarded by Karnataka are pending for
approval for a very long period;
(c) if so, the reasons for the delay in the approval of the projects; and
(d) the action being taken by the Union Government thereon?

(a) & (b) Details of major and medium irrigation projects forwarded by Govt. of Karnataka for
the acceptance of Advisory Committee of Ministry of Water Resources on Irrigation, Flood Control and
Multi Purpose Projects are given at Annexure-I.
(c) & (d) The time taken to clear the project proposals depend upon time taken by the project
authorities in furnishing compliance to the technical observations given by Central Water Commission
and submission of clearance from concerned agencies including Ministry of Environment and Forests and
Ministry of Tribal Affairs etc.
