Will the Minister OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Union Government has received any proposal from the State Government of Odisha to set up an Institute of Urban Management and Governance (UMANG) at Bhubaneswar;
(b) if so, the details and the present status thereof;
(c) the estimated cost of the project; and
(d) the time by which it is likely to be approved and made functional?

(a)& (b): Yes, Madam. A proposal to set up Institute of Urban Management and Governance (UMANG) at Bhubaneswar was received from the State Government of Odisha on 2.5.2011. The proposal was not sanctioned.
(c): The estimated cost of the project was Rs.104.39 crore of which the Central Government share was proposed to be 52.72 crore.
(d): Does not arise.
