(a) whether the workers covered under the Employees State Insurance Act would be entitled to the benefits from the date of their employment and not from the date of registration;

(b) if so, whether any steps are being taken to amend the rules to give effect to Supreme Court`s judgement in this regard;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR (SHRI VIJAY GOEL)

(a): The workers are entitled to benefits under the Employees State Insurance Act as soon as the employers register all workers coverable under the Act with the ESI Corporation.
