(a) whether the Government has any proposal to set up a second airport in the national capital region;
(b) if so, the details and the present status thereof along with the purpose therefor and the location identified for setting up of this airport; and
(c) the total cost of the project along with the time by which the said airport is likely to be set up?

(a) Yes Madam.
(b) Government of India (GoI) had received following proposals for grant of Site Clearance:
(i) Setting up of Greenfield Airport at Kotkasim Tehsil in Alwar district, Rajasthan : Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Ltd. (DMICDC) had submitted a proposal for grant of ''site clearance'' for setting up of greenfield airport (for providing both passenger and cargo services) at Kotkasim Tehsil in Alwar district, Rajasthan. The Steering Committee on Greenfield airports considered the proposal and recommended to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for grant of ''site clearance'' to the project.
(ii) Setting up of Cargo airport in Rohtak district of Haryana: M/s Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (HSIIDC) had submitted a proposal for setting up of a Cargo airport in Rohtak district of Haryana. The Steering Committee considered the proposal and advised HSIIDC to revise the proposal for full-fledged commercial airport in place of Cargo airport. The airport developer has not submitted the revised proposal.
(c): Necessary details regarding the project such as project cost, financing, schedule of the project implementation are worked out by the airport promoter and is submitted later at the time of ''in-principle'' approval stage.
