Question : RENAMING OF RADIO STATIONS



(a) whether the Government proposes to rename all the Radio Stations in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the objectives behind renaming the All India Radio Stations?

(a) : No, Sir. However, as a trial measure, some of the channels of AIR stations in Delhi and Rajasthan have been renamed.

(b) & (c) : It was felt necessary to provide distinguishing identification to different channels of some of All India Radio stations in Delhi and Rajasthan, details of which are given below :

1.	AIR, Delhi –A, as Indraprastha Channel

2. AIR, Delhi-B, as Rajdhani Channel

3. FM Channels of AIR, Delhi as FM Rainbow & FM Gold

4. Primary Channel of AIR, Jaipur as Amer Channel

5. Vividh Bharati Channel of AIR, Jaipur as FM Radio Pink City 6. Primary Channel of AIR, Jodhpur as Surya Nagri Channel

7 Vividh Bharati Channel of AIR, Jodhpur as FM Suncity Channel

8. AIR, Udaipur as Lake City Channel

9. AIR, Suratgarh as Cotton City Channel 10. AIR, Kota as Chambal Channel 11. AIR, Sawaimadhopur as Ranthambhore Channel 12. AIR, Jaisalmer as Golden City Channel 13.
