(a) the number of police medal for gallantry cancelled during the last five years by the Government;
(b) the reasons for cancellation of these medals along with the details of the persons and the reasons for awarding the police medal;
(c) whether the Government has initiated any inquiry/cases against the guilty officers; and
(d) if so, the details and outcome thereof?

(a): 5 numbers of Police Medal for Gallantry were cancelled during the last five years.
(b): The police medal for gallantry was awarded to above officials for their gallant action based upon the recommendation of respective State Government, citation and recommendation of Central Police Award Committee.
The awarded medals were cancelled /forfeited under Rule 8 of the Rules governing the award of Police Medal as act of the above Police officials brought the Police force into disrepute.
