(a) Yes Sir;
(b)&(c) The livestock insurance scheme for two milch animals per household was implemented on a pilot basis in 100 selected districts across the country during the year 2005-06 to 2007-08 and that full fledged regular scheme was approved on 20.11.2008 in 100 newly selected District. The Scheme has been extended to 300 districts w.e.f. 10th December, 2009.
The Risk Management and Insurance as a component of Sub-Mission on Livestock Development of National Livestock Mission (NLM) is implemented in all the District of the Country for indigenous/crossbred milch animals, Pack animals (Horse, Donkey, Mules, Camels, Ponies and Cattle Buffaloes male) and other livestock (Goat, Sheep, Pigs, Rabbit, Yak and Mithun. The benefit of subsidy is to be restricted to 5 cattle unit per beneficiary per household, in case of Goat, Sheep, Pigs and Rabbit one cattle unit is equal to 10 animals. The scheme is beneficial to all the farmers across the country.
