(a) whether the Government has proposed to set up National Recruitment Agency (NRA);
(b) the role of State Governments in conducting Common Eligibility Test (CET) and if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether tests would be conducted in regional languages; and
(d) whether the Government has fixed a timeline to set up NRA and if so, the details thereof?

(a): Yes, Sir. Government has set up National Recruitment Agency (NRA) vide order dated 28.08.2020.
(b): The mandate of NRA is to conduct first level screening of candidates through a Common Eligibility Test (CET) at the Graduate, Higher Secondary and Matriculate levels for Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Boards and the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. Based on the screening done at the CET, final selection shall be made through specialized tests/examinations to be conducted by respective recruitment agencies. The score obtained by candidates in CET may also be used by the State Governments in their recruitments, on the basis of a memorandum of understanding entered into with NRA.
(c): Yes, Sir. Subject to adequate number of candidates opting to take test in any of the regional languages included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.
(d): As in (a) above.
