(a) the places on the National Highway Nos. 28 and 29 where construction of a permanent bridge is under consideration;

(b) the time by which it is likely to be constructed; and

(c) the places on the said National Highways where bridges were constructed during the last three years and thereafter?

(a) Following bridges on National Highway No. 29 are included in the Annual Plan 2002-2003:


(i) Telgara Bridge in Km.188
(ii) Beshwa Bridge in Km. 189
(iii) Pipri Bridge in Km. 191


Four laning of National Highway No. 28 is envisaged under East-West Corridor of National Highway Development Programme (NHDP). Project preparation of Gorakhpur bypass has been taken up, which will include construction of a major bridge across Rapti river. Project preparation of remaining section of National Highway No. 28 is yet to be taken up.

(b) It is too early to indicate the dates of completion of the bridges at this stage.


(c) During the last three years, Ami bridge in km. 188 on National Highway 29 and one minor bridge in km. 44 on National Highway 28 have been completed.
