Question : TRANSITION PHASE OF JNNURM

(a) the details of proposal received under the two components of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) i.e. Urban Infrastructure Governance (UIG) and Urban Infrastructure Development Schemes for Small and Medium Town (UIDSSMT), during the transition phase, project, city and State-wise;

(b) the details of proposal sanctioned under UIG and UIDSSMT during the transition phase, project, city and State-wise;

(c) whether various States have requested the Government to sanction/release the funds under UIG and UIDSSMT for the projects sanctioned during the phase and if so, the details thereof, project, city and State-wise;

(d) the details of funds sanctioned/released or proposed to be sanctioned/released, project, city and State-wise;

(e) whether the progress of the projects are as per the schedule; and

(f) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor along with the action taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b): The details of proposals received under Urban Infrastructure Governance (UIG), Sub-Mission and Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Town (UIDSSMT) of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) during the Transition Phase i.e. 1st April, 2012 to 31st March 2014 are at Annexure-I & II respectively. The details of proposal sanctioned under UIG and UIDSSMT during the Transition Phase of JnNURM are at Annexure-III & IV respectively.

(c) & (d): The details of request received from State Governments for releasing the 2nd installment of Additional Central Assistant (ACA) under UIG and UIDSSMT during the Transition Phase of JnNURM are at Annexure-V & VI respectively. No funds have been released for infrastructure projects under JnNURM during the current financial year.

(e) & (f): JnNURM projects are implemented by the State Governments/ULBs. The lists of projects completed under UIG & UIDSSMT during the Mission period of JnNURM are at Annexure-VII & VIII. The State governments are impressed upon time to time through various channel viz. Review meetings, Regular communication, Field visits, Independent Review and Monitoring Agencies (IRMAs) etc. to speed up the implementation of the Projects and utilize funds within the stipulated time.
