Question : Funds sanctioned for Kottayam under Swadesh Darshan and PRASAD Scheme

(a) whether the Government has allocated any funds under the Swadesh Darshan scheme for sites in Kottayam district;
(b) if so, the details thereof, including the percentage of funds utilized at these sites; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): Ministry of Tourism under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme has sanctioned funds to the tune of Rs.14.10 crores for developing tourist/pilgrim facilities like Community Halls, Toilet Blocks, Cafeteria, Illumination, Sitting Spaces, Drinking Water Facilities, Landscaping etc. at following 25 religious sites in Kottayam District under the project “Development of Spiritual Circuit: Kasaragod, Wayanad, Kannur, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Mallapuram, Thrichur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Allaphuza, Pathananamithitta, Kollam, Trivandrum in Kerala” sanctioned in year 2018-19:

• Maha Deva Temple (Thidanadu)
• St. Mary''s Church (Parel)
• Mar Mathew Kavukattu
• The Holy Magi Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church (Manimala)
• Maha Deva Temple (Kadappattoor)
• St. Dominic Cathedral Church (Akkara Pally)
• St. Basil''s Church (Manimala)
• Mahadeva Temple (Chirakadavu)
• Sree Badra Temple (Manakadu)
• Nainar Pally Jama-ath (Kanjirapally)
• Nainar Pally Jama-ath (Poonjar)
• Shiva Temple (Irmpunnikara)
• Kodugur Devi Temple (Vazhoor)
• Shree Devi Temple (Valliyankavu)
• Shree Shankara Naryana Murthy Temple (Anikadu)
• Manimala Kavu Temple
• Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam (Near Erumely)
• Kottangal Devi Temple
• Ellamkavu Devi Temple (Karibhukkayam)
• Sree Bhagawati Devi Temple (Kadayinikadu)
• Moongayi Temple (Manimala)
• Sree Mahadeva Temple (Thrikannapuram)

In addition to above, Kumarakom in Kerala is also one of the sites identified by the Ministry of Tourism for development as an Iconic Tourist Site.
